Hi Mark,

The PL3000 flatbed scans at 3048 optical an area that is about 3 1/4 inches
wide (both transmissive and reflective) --  large enough for 35mm and medium
format negs and transparencies. The scans are very high quality.

For resolution/dollar specs, it looks like the new 4000 dpi film scanners have
passed it by.
