Hopefully you aren't accusing me of saying that the computer "stores" the
information it receives from the printer, if by "store" you mean putting it
into persistent storage, because I certainly did not say that (read my text
below). It obviously "stores" it in Windows controls in the printer modeless
dialog, since you can see the graphs. But that dialog goes away when the
print is complete.

You should have actually tried it before making that statement. I just tried
it on my HP 2000C and it knows how much ink it has in each cartridge
regardless of their being pulled out and put back in. What a silly
implementation HP would be responsible for if what you say were true.
