I have the SS4000 under Windows 2K Professional and have never had such a
problem. I suspect with a new installation and simple hardware configuration
you wouldn't have a problem. Problems like he describes are not confined to
Windows 2K. I had problems just like that under Windows 98SE. My problems
stemmed from a DVD movie player hardware card in conflict with my HP
PhotoSmart scanner, when one device would overwrite the SCSI drivers with
obsolete ASPI drivers. My solution was to read the FAQs on the HP site,
which pointed me to files to download from the Adaptec site.
