I have always called that, what you reference to television, aliasing.  What
do you believe is the difference?

Thank you for your input, and I hope this isn't coming across as
'bickering', and I am sorry if it does, that is not the intention.  I really
want to understand why people call it dithering...because in my 'world'
dithering is only a technique that can be used in the halftone process, just
an algorithm, not the process it self.
