Re: filmscanners: Vuescan effects on system?

No effect when you're not using it - it has to be something else

Gamma 1.8 is the right number for a Mac, but you can always experiment. I
use a PC but my monitor is set to gamma 1.8 for Corel PhotoPaint so I set
Vuescan for gamma 1.8 and Bruce RGB and my monitor matches my prints just
fine.

Subject: filmscanners: Vuescan effects on system?

| Does installing Vuescan have any effect on my Mac/NEC/Scan Dual II/PS-LE
| system when I am not using Vuescan, but using the Scan Dual II software?
|
| One thing that puzzled me, not necessarily related to the above
question--I
| wouldn't know--is that when I installed Vuescan it asked me to select 1.8
or
| 2.2 gamma. I selected 1.8 since I am using a Mac. Was that the right
| choice?
|
| I was getting prints that matched my monitor image very closely until
| lately. I don't know what happened, but I did install Vuescan. But it
may
| have nothing at all to do with that.
