Unfortunately it wasn't  - all I did was adjust density of sky areas to a 
better balance. I have never tried doing what you need to do, and I daresay it 
would take a lot of blundering experimentation on my part to correct a 
gradient fade, as I am by no means a PS expert. Maybe someone who is can 
advise.
