As I recall, vuescan keeps log internal until close, when it is compressed and
written as a .zip file. Perhaps Ed would offer an option/patch to write each
log entry to disk, which then could survive system crash. A step to try first,
or in conjunction with assist from Ed: go to My Computer: System Properties >
File System Properties > Troubleshooting and check "Disable write-behind
caching for all drives."
