You can still do multiscanning with Vuescan, but I prefer to digitally align the
images using a second program called Picture Window. Registration is not perfect
in subsequent Scanwit scans, so multiscaning will slightly blurr the image. Here

The program can also be used to seamless stitch images together to form a
panorama.
