On a 700 MHz Athlon PC:

2 minutes, 10 seconds with "Super Fine Scan" OFF.
5 minutes, 15 seconds with "Super Fine Scan" ON.

If using NS in TWAIN mode, that's about the 
extent of it.

However, if using NS in Stand-Alone mode, you 
get to deal with its horrifically slow file-
save times.  1 minute, 30 seconds for this 
76.6 MB image.  FWIW, Photoshop can save this 
same image in about 3 seconds.
