I have use the Epson 1200.
All I can say is: consumers get excellent machines for their money these
days. I really think so.
But pros, semi-pros and all you archival quality freaks (like me:-) - please
don't believe that someone out there is crazy and wants to sell professional
quality scanners at a bargain. This applies to above mentioned Epson
scanners as well as new recently discussed Canon flatbed with 2400dpi. It is
enough to observe that Canon doesn't mention dmax and this is enough for me
to conclude that they don't tell you the whole thruth.
Spec-inflation. Nothing more.
