I don't run all of them at the same time. In particular, when I am scanning and
using Photoshop, I don't run much else, since Photoshop alone will routinely
take 300 MB for itself.

What problems? Everything works perfectly on this machine. I don't need a new
computer, which is why I refuse to be tricked into buying one.

Six months of work, just to install one slightly-better scanner? I'm afraid
that isn't cost-effective.

Why not? They could have just as easily included an SCSI interface and NT
drivers, as they did for previous scanners. I know I'm not alone in running
configurations like this. I guess they didn't want our business. I hope they
aren't planning to change lens mounts as well.
