Yup, it's 95% the goon who sleeves the negs. It is such a boring job it is 
generally done under suffrance by the work experience kiddie. I have 
watched with horror as they scrape the cut lengths diagonally off the 
grubbylightbox, usually pressing down on the neg and sliding it off the 
edge. They seem to think that cotton gloves are magic.

This is the sole reason trannie tends to be cleaner IME. It's not the 
roller transports in the processor, it's that it escapes the gritty 
lightbox - either going direct into a continuous envelope sleeve, or to a 
mounting machine.
