Is that because the autofocus is generally pretty good?  Wouldn't it still
be possible to use the scan line method and offset the focus position?
Presumably it might be easiest on the LS2000, LS4000 and LS8000 because of
the capability for multiple scans on a point?  (which doesn't help me since
I have an LS30)
