It was a choice between ME (which is worse in some ways than 98 Second Ed.)
or Windows 2000 or XP. Rather than go OT on Operating Systems, let me just
say that I have enough new components that going to 98/ME/2000 made no sense
when matched up to XP. I also have to start my certification rounds on
Operating Systems again with XP's release, so it was partly work related as
a decision. It doesn't matter now, I've purchased Hamrick's VueScan, so now
I eagerly await the arrival of my Scanwit...

... but XP ... isn't it the NEW VERSION of Windows 2000 ??????????? and NOT
the new version of Windows ME ??
If it is the follower of 2000 then its name is NT while ME real name is 98
follow on !!!!!!!
This means .... the applications are NOT COMPATIBLE because the operating
systems ARE DIFFERENT .
Being you I wouldn't waste my precious time following Microsoft needs ...
and I would re-format my disk to re-install my operating system i.e. Windows
98 alias ME.
