I don't think that you will find any cheap 36 x 24mm ccd in the next couple
of years. The Phillips
ccd cost about 2000 US$ and take 2 months to produce. The yield from the
wafer is to low.
The camera makers must find a new way or new technology to produce ccd
sensors cheaper. LEAF new camera back cost about 10000 US$ and are build
around CMOS. The most interesting thing is that Phillips soon 4 year old 24
x 36 mm ccd still is the best on the market, but expansive
