BF: My first Sony GDM-F500R was bad out of the box. Sony had me send
it back and a month later sent me a (cosmetically perfect)
"refurbished" unit that has worked reasonably well since then.
BF: On the other hand, when my Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2040u went bad
after 8 months they expressed me a new one and had me return the old
one at my leisure using their FedEx account.

These CRTs have a wonderfully sharp display...
BF: Both the above Mitsubishis have/had very sharp display of small
text. Both the above Sonys have/had disturbingly fuzzy display of
small text.
