[filmscanners] Re: VueScan 7.5 beta 1 crashes

This could be the Win 9x/ME Vcache bug where the disk cache grabs all your
memory.

Do you have a line under the entry "[vcache]" in your system.ini file (in
c:\windows) that limits the max file cache. eg.

[vcache]
MaxFileCache=160000

This bug is likely to spring up at any time. 160000 is a good starting point
for 4000dpi 35mm on a 768Mb machine. The number is Kb - i.e. 160000Kb =
160Mb.

Your problem may be unrelated but you should set the limit anyway if you
haven't already.

Me too. General protection fault. LS4000, Win98, 768Megs ram, No other
apps running. Set to auto exposure, auto focus and save raw scan only.
Performs preview scan for exposure, autofocus OK, scans raw file and saves
but crashes after this save. Can send log file also if needed.
