Hello Al,
Sorry for my late reply but I was very busy last week.

Ok, I´ll wait until Ed mentioned the support of the Scan Elite II. Thank
you for your hints.

So I´m sure it´s not the scanner. Thank you.

I´ve scanned some underexposed color negatives. With them I dind´t have any
problem, I can´t find absolutely no banding. Ok, the grain is a little bit
visible, but it was a 200 ASA film. In the moment I test it wirth a slide
(100 ASA) - a sunset maybe ok for testing. I see less grain than the color
negatives and a very very thin horizontal line (one pixel) only in the ble
channel across the whole image which is a little bit brighter than the
rest, but its only visible at zoom scale more than 350. And the line
doesn´t have the same brightness over the whole length. It´s not so clear
than the example of the linked webpage some days ago (schmode or so -
sorry, but I can´t remember exactly).
Now I tried it with 8bit. The line was "gone away". In every channel no
banding was visible. I tried it again with 16 bit. On the second scan I saw
a light banding in the red channel, the others are ok, and a second slide
was also ok - in every channel. I think it comes at random and only when
you scan with 16bit.
All scanns were done with full resolution and singlescan with the original
Minolta twain plugin and Adobe Photoshop.
I hope I can help.
