 A pretty serious bug in this version is mentioned on the newsgroup.

lock exposure scanning transparent area.

I have exactly the same problem, Vladimir.  I lock exposure after the
first preview.  As soon as I hit the "preview" button to do the second
preview, the preview image disappears and the scanner doesn't respond
to anything.  When I unlock the exposure, I regain control of the
scanner. [no scanner, or OS mentioned]
