[filmscanners] Re: Multi pass scanning is producing fuzzy results

Apparently the multiple passes are not lining up 100% accurately. Try
long-pass scanning instead of multi-pass.

Subject: [filmscanners] Multi pass scanning is producing fuzzy results

Hello,

I have an Epson 2450 flatbed scanner which I am using to scan
transparancies. In order to reduce noise in the shadows I have been
experimenting with multi pass scanning. I have tried a couple different
software packages and with both the multi pass scans are not as sharp as
the single pass scans. Is this a problem with multi pass scanning in
general or is it just my scanner? I am scanning at 2400 dpi which is the
highest optical resolution. Does anyone have any advice on how to retain
the image sharpness when using multi pass scanning?

Thanks much,
Osman
