I disagree! High quality sound can be heard by tin-eared as well as
golden-eared audiophiles around the world! Ask them ;-) High quality sound
does not necessarily cost a lot. Audiophilia does!
It's like anything; Leica glass; Zeiss optics; Imacon scanners; etc. Once
your bitten with the bug, it consumes you! Once you get what you want out of
it, you return to reality and pay off the bank loans!

By the time most of use can afford audio equipment that actually has a
detectable difference from the mainstream, most of us (will) have ears
that can no longer detect it. ;-)
