No argument with that ... but there are very few photo subjects suited to a
scanning back.  They are only useful if your subject will remain completely
motionless for a while.

I'm waiting for a full-frame, tri-CCD (or Foveon variant) sensor for _any_
camera, even 36x24.  I think it will be quite a while before anyone develops
an electronic image sensor as large as 6x6.  I suspect that something
significant in fabrication technologies will have to happen in order to make
that viable and affordable on a large scale.
