[filmscanners] RE: Re:GRAIN/ICE SHOWDOWN: Nikon LS8000vs.MinoltaScanMulti Pro!
I have to agree.
I run NikonScan on my elderly laptop equipped with Celeron 300 MHz and 192
MB memory with IV ED, (this is the only PC I have right now), and didn't
noticed any sign of software instability.
I didn't find the interface being so bad as you stated, I found it to be
quite simple for understanding yet featured powerful things.
Furthermore, recently I started to run it through TWAIN scanning into
Photoshop on the same machine - no problems either.
Regards,
Alex Z

You must be a computer techno to say that. I totally disagree with
everything in your message.

Nikon Scan is an ergonomic failure, independently of its performance and
reliability. The software is very poorly designed, and almost as poorly
coded.
I run Nikon Scan 3.1.2 with 1.5 GB of RAM (the maximum I can fit on the
machine) and it runs fine, as far as I can tell. But the program interface
is still a joke. I would have preferred something that at least conforms to
Windows standards, even if it might mean fewer pretty lights and less
smooth, sculpted 3-D aesthetics.
