!!!!!!!! Have you never shot a slide and gotten utterly vanished shadow
detail and thermonuclear highlights which lack detail entirely...? Believe
me, the original scene was not like that thru' the viewfinder. Even in
grungy England, occasional bright sunlight makes this all too easy to
achieve - and that information is gone, eliminated, lost forever.
