No, it's more like this:

BT IM APR H AEIFRAIN = color negative
APTURE THE SAME INFO = color slide

Color negative capture the entire sentence, but with less detail (missing
letters, in this analogy) than slide film.  Slide film captures only the
middle part of the sentence, but with complete detail.
