It is often preinstalled, as it was on the machine I got to drive my
scanner. It does the job well enough, but I haven't used Win 2K in years,
so I can't directly compare.
In general, though, anything based on NT (Win 2K, Win XP) will be a huge
step ahead of the consumer 32-bit Windows versions (95, 98, 98SE, ME, etc.).
