You didn't give much detail, only that you have plenty of ram and disk, but
what platform are you on, what version of what OS, etc.
Having asked that I would seriously suggest that you consider VueScan. I
use it with my SS4000 and prefer it over Insight and Silverfast. You might
also go on the Polaroid website to see if they have any updates to Insight
that you can install.
