Hey all!
This is not too bad, as long as you can scan the 6x9 sections without
having to move the film in the holder, a stitch in Photoshop should be
trivial!
In my Scan Multi, I'd have to move the film if I wanted to do this, which
would disturb the film angle enough to make lining up the individual scans
distinctly non-trivial!
I've done something similar, however, scanning a 6x6 image at 2880 in three
longitudinal stripes.... getting them to line up perfectly is almost
impossible.
HOWEVER! I"ve printed the individual strips and pasted them together as a
PRINT (the ultimate goal, as I don't have a wide format printer!). I made
one poster sized print out of five strips glued together. I was able to
find good spots in the image to make the joins almost invisible, especially
in the poster frame the print lives in.

I know for a fact that it will not scan panoramic medium format images.
The scanner will preview a 6x24 image but not scan it. The maximum scan
area remains at 6x9

It should work with the glass carrier which is available from Polaroid. I
just got one and have used it a few times. I don't have 6x17 negs but it
can scan a several negative long strip of 6x7, and allows scanning up to
6x24.
