I've just started using my Nikon 8000 scanner.

I'm using a Mac G4, 450 mhz, 1.25gig ram, Nikon scan 3.12, Photoshop
plug-in.

I'm finding that some of the tools have become "grayed out" such as the LHS
curves and the unsharp mask control.  Has anyone seen this or have any other
cure for this problem? Also, if anyone has a plan to maximize scan speed
with the above set-up I'd love to hear it.
