That's correct, but you need to sample at 2x the maximum frequency you want
to reliably detect. A 6u sample area scanner can only RELIABLY detect
12u...
The above is only for "objects" that fall on the grid of the scanner. So,
you really could only reliably detect something 12 * 1.41 or 17u for any
orientation.
