Yes, I'm using Photoshop to see the histograms. Indeed, SF is one of the worst 
pieces of software I've ever used - awful interface, buggy, terrible 
documentation etc. It does have some advantages however: the color calibration, 
the adjustable negative film profiles, it can load the images very quickly when 
scanning from file etc.
