I've heard of some sort of hardware kludge on the x86 architecture that
allows addressing of more than 4 GB (not sure if it has always been there or
not).  The important point, though, is that once you get past the direct
addressing capability of the first 32 bits, going beyond that becomes orders
of magnitude less efficient and more complicated to code.

The address space that matters is the one that can be directly addressed
with a machine instruction.

I don't have the money to look at anything.  Besides, I need at least 20"
diagonal and at least 1600x1200 to match what I already have.
