I do not use PiezographyBW; but I think what you say is not that different
from what I suggested that typically the input resolution for most if not
all Epson printers falls between 200 and 360 dpi and not the alledged 720
dpi.

This statement tends to be a little ambiguous with respect to the phrase
"images printed."
Outside of permitting some additional smoothness in transitons between
colors and within the same color, I am inclined to agree with reguard to
images printed, if by that we mean the final hard copy outcomes, that
multiples of 720 dpi above that like 1440 and 2880 do not show significant
differences or advantages with respect to sharpness or alaising. Thus, the
advantages in B&W would not be as relevant or significant for B&W as for
color in any case with respect to the creation of smoother transitions
between colors.
However, in terms of the files inputed as opposed to the images printed,
what I was suggesting was that one should input files with resolutions that
are even multiples of the 720 dpi figure like 240 dpi, 270 dpi, 300 dpi and
360 dpi to avoid alaising and artifacts. I do not see any need to input
files with resolutions at or above 360 dpi to the printer even if they are
even multiples of the 720 dpi baseline.
Thus, I conclude that we are not in disagreement. But then again, I am not
sure if you were reacting to my comments of those of others. :-)
