Yep there is a right way of cleaning the LS2000 and there is a wrong way.
More can be dirty than just the one mirror that is visible through the
front of the scanner, and since the lower mirror is not clipped in very
sturdily, I would not go poking around inside without a clear view of what
it is your poking at.
