[filmscanners] RE: A Viewscan issue
I also have 512 MB etc. and I use to be able to run Vuescan, PS7 and Outlook
plus others at the same time. I don't think it is a memory issue. Perhaps
there is some sort of conflict between Vuescan and Outlook. When running
all three if I shut down PS7 Vuescan still will not open if Outlook is open.
To make it more interesting; this does not happen all the time just most of
the time??? cjr

How much main memory do you have and how large is your swap file? These
could be issues. I have 512mb of main memory and a lot of disk available for
swap (I let windows manage the swap area) running W98SE and often run
VueScan and Outlook 2000 and Photoshop 7 simultaneously with no problems.

At times Viewscan will not open fully. That is to say, it opens but there
are no menus available
in any of the tabs. I am running version 7.5.60. This only seems to occur
when Outlook 2000 SR is up and running, version 9.0.0.3821, all this running
under Windows ME. The system does not crash. All I have to do is close
Viewscan and Outlook then restart Viewscan with Outlook closed and Viewscan
loads just fine.
Anyone out there with a similar experience? Thanks, John Rossi
