[filmscanners] Re: Epson 2450 dust on inside of glass???
Regarding the dust speck, if you already have one, you might try a
anti-static brush or gun and see if it will allow the piece to drop.
Or you may try to tap the area or the sides of the scanner to try to
dislodge it to the bottom of the scanner.
Or, you could take the scanner apart and remove the dust (probably voids
your warranty).
Or, you could return it to Epson or their service if it is under
warranty, this is a problem they have had with their flatbed scanners
before.
The Polaroid 35 LE is a 1800 dpi scanner, which in its time was a nice
scanner. For medium res use, it is still an OK scanner. If it crashes
every third scan, you should be able to appraise it's value as a film
scanner for your needs. There may not be updated drivers for it, or you
may need to make some setting changes or find out what may be
conflicting with it to get it to work reliably.
