[filmscanners] Re: Bad Multi Pro Unit?

I am definitely using the latest version of Minolta's software. I think the
excessive "noise" I was seeing is the salt and pepper phenomenon I have seen
mentioned several times on the discussion I have been able to find on this
scanner. I guess people are using diffusers on the light source with excellent
results. I have also been scanning fuji film, and that was mentioned to be
problematic.

I guess I am/was most concerned with a red cast being present in various degrees
in _all_ scans I have made thus far. If it is a simple adjustment to the
exposure of that channel and not some kind of problem with that CCD or whatever,
then all is well. Aside from that, the only concern I have now is that the G
channel has never been sharper than the other 2, which I have defintely seen in
other scanner and many people have mentioned being a reliable thing to look for.
The scanner was definitely not packaged well (thanks B&H) and that had given me
impetus to make me paranoid.
