It's scanning at 1800 ppi, but with 0.5pel stepping in the movement of the
sensor,  hence 3600ppi on that axis. This gives a little more real
information and a lot more marketing advantage <g>/ The result will be a
scan interpolated to 3600x3600ppi. Which isn't necessarily disastrous, but
all other things being equal, cannot match a genuine, optical res of
3600x3600ppi. Really you need to assess the scans to determine whether they
meet your needs, but the same would also be true of a scanner doing a
'real' 3600x3600ppi.
