The two major changes in the 1280 are full-bleed (borderless) printing (the 1270
only allows this for the 4" roll paper), and 2880dpi maximum, up from 1440. I
have not seen the output from the 1280 but many people say they cannot see the
difference between 1440 and 2880, although a few people claim it looks better.
It does use more ink and is slower however. Personally, I go for the 1270 if it
is a good deal.
