Hamrick offered endless upgrades to Vuescan after my initial purchase of
their companion product VuePrint many years ago. Somewhere after my version
of VueScan, they stopped offering the free upgrades and required re-purchase
of the VueScan program for us ancient customers.

I don't understand what you mean by pre-pay-again.  I bouth mine prior to
march 2003 so I have lifetime free upgrades. I don't notice any difference
in sharpness but do observe better color in the later versions. I am
currently using 7.6.31.

I have one of the pre-pay-again versions of Vuescan 7.5.41.

Do you have one of the newer versions? Are the scans any sharper?

If so, is it worth upgrading from what I have now?
