That may be true; but these sorts of events tend to be idiosyncratic and
random, often depending on the particular hardware/software setup and
combinations. Also you fail to mention if you were using Firewire or
not which also may be a factor. My comments about conflict between
Vuescan and twain based scanner software is specifically addressed to
Windows XP and specifically to those systems using SCSI based scanners.
Given this, I was speculating that it might also be a problem with plug
and play USB and Firewire based scanners using Windows XP and Vuescan
along with twain based scanner drivers.
