  I don't know how obvious Ed has made this news ... He has posted at the
NG, but under a different subject.  In any case, he has realized a redily
available serial number generator for Vuescan ... and has had to re-issue
serial numbers for the newest upgrades.  The wwwpage for requesting a new sn
