[filmscanners] RE: Noise in Polaroid SS 4000 scans
I was going to ask why you were scanning at 2000 dpi in the first place.
In the three years and thousands of images I've scanned on my SS4000 I
don't think I've ever done that. At any rate, those images do seem to be
excessively noisy, as if something might be wrong. I've recently scanned
some Kodak Portra UC and they look pretty noisy in the shadows at full
res but they print up really well for some reason, stunningly in fact.
