Kodak admits fairly freely that they introduce new film formats to sell
film. The new hype, and new "features" always bring in revenues from
new camera owners and film buyers.
Since these new formats have rarely, since 35mm added anything of great
value, I find it a questionable method to promote film sales. The deal
with the lab equipment is even of more questionable business practice.
It forces all those labs to buy the equipment to compete with one
another, and then once the format is killed off, they are stuck with
useless machinery.

We held slide shows, and they are a big hit when we've had them.
Haven't done any recently due to lack of time. We make them into
events, with food and drink, and music and dissolve units.

It just isn't the same. I use a screen that is about 10-12 feet wide.
It's gonna be a while before I can afford a OLED or Plasma screen like that.
