Собственно узнать как оно было можно: apt-cache policy nginx

Скорее всего у вас была версия из ppa:nginx, а теперь версия из nginx.org

Они в принципе разные. nginx.org ставит реальный пакет, из ppa -
виртуальный, который указывает на -full -light сборку nginx
