Hi, Tomek,

yes, me. I had to return *two* units due to intolerable shadow banding
(see http://schmode.net/banding.jpg and
http://schmode.net/banding_new_unit.jpg). And I know of at least two
buyers who have experienced the same problems. I have yet to meet a Scan
Elite II owner whose unit works properly. And, the Minolta staff did not
react in any way to several e-mails and a letter I sent on that issue.

My perception is that the Elite II has a widespread flaw in the series
which the Minolta staff know about but want to keep it a secret. I
strongly recommend not to buy the Elite II unless you can return it
because the likeliness to get a defective unit seems to be high.

I wrote about the banding issue earlier, so you may want to check the
list archive on that.
