[filmscanners] shadow noise with Minolta Diamge Dual II

I have a Minolta Diamge Dual II and notice that there is noticeable noise in
some of the shadow area when I scan negatives. I try VueScan with multiple
pass (I use 4) and it doesn't seem helpful at all. The shadow from the
negative is from the high light area on the film and I wonder why it is
noisy. I am using Kodak Gold 200 and the film is well developed. Am I having
the film grain problem? I notice that all RGB channels have the noise in
that area and they are altering pixel by pixel.

Does anyone have the same experience and is there any way that I can improve
this?

Thanks.

Eric
