I can't answer your question. Until recently I was looking at upgrading to
a 4000 DPI scanner, which the Elite II is not, so I didn't really look at
it.  I doubt there would be significant changes unless the original version
was badly designed and I have heard nothing about that.

I just ordered a Nikon D100 and will be primarily digital from now on..
Consequently I have stopped looking at scanners.
