Correct me if i'm wrong but don't ultra-short focal lengths on small dig
formats look the same as 'standard' focal lengths on standard sized
formats??? Are you talking about a DOF issue?

Surely aren't the small digital formats better in some respects? If you
pay $1000 for a 400mm f2.8 or the same for a 100mm f2.8 I think I know
which one would be of a better quality.

How can you feel you are working with obsolete material when you clearly
said MF rules. Surely it's only obsolete if there is something out there
that does it better. Even though I can't wait to get my hands on a Canon
EOS 1Ds, in some ways my consumer body costing 20 times less is not
obsolete because I get a piece of film out of it that I know will
probably out last me. I can't say the same thing about images stored on
CD's (which are cheap in every way). I'm also worried that my the
layered, compressed tiffs I'm storing won't open in Photoshop 12 due to
some little bug.
