Re: filmscanners: Nikon 8000 ED or Polaroid Sprintscan 120 ??
You may well view my opinions as the vision of a soothsayer, however as
someone who earns their living from taking photos for industry I can
assure you that I speak with accumulated knowledge of just under 40
years of delivering images to clients in an ever changing format.
Prints and Transparencies have become rare, digital files on CD have
become normal.
I admit to not being able to predict how those images will be laid onto
paper but do predict that brochures and leaflets requiring digital
images will be around for a while.
Ive seen cheapo scanners evolve into excellent bits of kit and looking
at the escalating improvement in capture information from them really do
believe that for MOST purposes they are currently satisfactory.
Not for Billboard images maybe, and not good enough to provide all the
information you may need for a 5x4"negative output (144MB or so at 8k
resolution) but they are heading that way.
Don't be a DODO, open your eyes to the future ,its here now !!
keep smiling
